In news that’s sure to shock you to your very core — Are you sitting right now, with a paper bag ready to breathe into? — not everything you read online is true. Despite what the internet may have told you recently, Kate Middleton is not actually a fan of almond milk.
According to PEOPLE, the duchess stopped by a cafe in the U.K. on Tuesday, where she and Prince William were greeted by shop owners and presented with tea and baked goods. Kim Gardener, a charity worker, said that employees at the cafe specifically set aside almond milk for Kate.
“We put almond milk on the table because we had read that she had it,” she said. Later on, Kate apparently responded by saying, “Don’t believe everything you read — I don’t even like almond milk.”
The cafe employees’ confusion likely comes from multiple articles on the web — like this 2017 article published by SELF — that actually list almond milk as one of Kate Middleton’s favorite foods. Another post from Smooth once claimed that the duchess uses almond milk to satisfy her sweet tooth, since she and William are known to be healthy eaters.
It looks like we’ll officially have to add almond milk to the list of foods not to serve the royal family. You know, once our invitation to hang out stops getting lost in the mail.
