We are delighted to be HEINEKEN’s partner of choice for providing complex integrated and turnkey decarbonization solutions for three of our customer’s industrial sites. We proposed an end-to-end approach, from strategy to execution, consisting of innovative solutions and technologies to decarbonize heat production and usage. Our strategy combines onsite biomethane production, resulted from craft breweries’ waste and heat recovery through heat pumps. This customized approach will contribute to  HEINEKEN’s global Net Zero ambitions.” – Nicolas Richard, CEO ENGIE Romania

Magne Setnes, Nicolas Richard, and Thibaut Boidin

The Integrated Net Zero Production programme was launched to help tackle the 88% of HEINEKEN’s global Scope 1 and 2 emissions that come from beverage production, with the aim of establishing a cross-functional team of internal experts and external suppliers to drive progress.

HEINEKEN continues to focus on concrete actions to reduce its carbon emissions, working closely with customers, consumers, and suppliers. At the end of 2023, HEINEKEN global had already reduced scope 1 and 2 emissions by 34% vs. 2018.

In 2023 HEINEKEN’s global net zero and FLAG (Forest, Land and Agriculture) targets were approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), becoming the first global brewer to pass this sustainability milestone. For complete details on HEINEKEN’s global science-based targets, see SBTi’s website.
