07.15 – Asian markets rise across the board
Overnight in Asia, the Chinese markets continued their strong start to the week following the news that China is considering injecting up to 1 trillion yuan (€30 billion) of capital into its biggest state banks.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng has put in a strong showing so far, up 3.04 per cent, with the CSI reporting a similar climb of 2.99 per cent. The Shanghai Composite followed closely behind, rising 2.45 per cent to 2,967.41.
Meanwhile in Japan, the Nikkei turned around its sluggish start to the week to climb 2.56 per cent. South Korea’s KOSPI was similar, climbing 2.48 per cent.
