The storm threat is due to ease off on Tuesday, making way for a period of warmer weather on Friday, October 4, according to weather maps. Areas of the mainland and some islands will experience similar highs to Spain, with temperatures hitting the early 30s.
In mainland Greece, areas in the central region and further south will hit 32C, including areas to the north and east of Mount Parnassus.
In Western Greece, the coastal areas of Araxos and Kalogria could see temperatures reaching 30C. This heatwave also spreads across Turkey, which is due to experience temperatures of 30C in many areas in the west.
Italy is also due to be hit with bad weather for four days starting on October 1 as a new Atlantic storm front led by cold air comes swooping across.
The popular tourist destination of Tuscany in central Italy will be one of the first regions to experience heavy rainfall on Tuesday, before the weather front moves northeast.
On the other hand, regions in the south including Calabria and Sicily are forecasted to avoid intense rain and storms. Though still milder than other areas in Europe this week, areas in southern Italy can expect highs of 28C and lows of 20C.
