Jack Golke is going from March Madness to Montenegro.
Podgorica Bemax Basketball Club, also known as KK Podgorica, plays in the Prva A liga, which is the top tier league in the small nation in southeastern Europe.
The team announced Monday that it has signed Gohlke, 24, who led Oakland to an upset of Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament in March.
Gohlke, who most recently played for Oklahoma City in the NBA Summer League, scored 32 points, including 10 three-pointers, in what turned out to be John Calipari’s last game in Lexington.
His performance on the national stage made him one of the tournament’s biggest breakout stars. Oakland, which won the Horizon League, lost in the next round to NC State.
He averaged 13.1 points per game, making 137 three-pointers last season. He is the sixth new player, and only American, the club has added this offseason.
