Nowhere in the European Union is as dependent on agriculture as Romania, at least by some metrics. The country has the highest proportion of its population working in the industry and it has more farms than anywhere else in the bloc. It’s one of the continent’s biggest corn exporters, along with being a key supplier of sunflowers and soybeans.
