Following the retirement of EBRC CEO and previous president Yves Reding, Aresu will take over the position. According to a press release by the group, Aresu will focus on the organisation’s growth, stronger links with existing associations and European authorities, as well as the support of local companies as they adopt new cloud features.
Aresu, who joined LuxTrust in 2017, was chief customer officer before being appointed CEO in May 2021. “Fabrice [Aresu], who is already involved in the GAIA-X project at the European level, has all the assets to federate and accelerate our commitment to a sovereign digital Europe,” Reding said in a statement.
The CCEL was founded in 2009 with the aid of the Fedil, Luxembourg’s industry federation, and the ABBL, the national bankers’ association, with the aim of putting the grand duchy on the map in the cloud computing and SAAS domain.
Reding, who led the organisation for seven years, pushed for Luxembourg’s inclusion into the EU’s Gaia-X project and helped develop its local branch. The latter is a secure cloud platform allowing public and private organisations to share data in compliance with EU regulations.
Aresu will also take over Reding’s spot in ICT Luxembourg’s board, as well as the committee for the Gaia-X Luxembourg Hub.
