At the trilateral meeting, they will discuss protecting the borders of the European Union against illegal migration and strengthening regional cooperation, as well as new solutions and ways to stop illegal migration to Europe.
One of the more important topics will be the strengthening of EU cooperation with the countries of the Western Balkans, especially with Serbia, as a key partner in solving the migration crisis, because these countries play an important role in regulating the migration routes leading to Europe, the office of the Slovak government announced.

This includes measures to strengthen border protection, support asylum procedures in partner countries and harmonize visa policy with the European Union.
“An innovative solution could be external centers, so-called hotspots for the processing of asylum requests outside the EU, which is currently implemented in practice, for example, by Italy in cooperation with Albania,” the office announced.
Italy has reached an agreement to process migrants in Albania, a scheme some European countries have said could be used as a model.

With this meeting, the countries are trying to strengthen regional cooperation in the fight against illegal migration and ensure more effective protection of the EU’s external borders. The conversation between the leaders of Slovakia, Serbia and Hungary could lead to concrete steps to improve the migration situation and minimize illegal migration flows to Europe.
After the trilateral meeting, a joint press conference for Vučić, Fico and Orbán will be held. The delegations will also include the ministers of internal affairs of the participating countries, who will hold a separate meeting, and Serbia will be represented by the minister of internal affairs, Ivica Dacic.
By the way, Komarno is known as the largest city in Slovakia with a Hungarian majority, and for Serbian history, this city is important as the only significant center of Serbs on the soil of today’s Slovakia.
The once numerous and wealthy community has almost disappeared today, but the large Serbian Orthodox church has been preserved in the city.
